IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 22, 2013 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Maple Youth Ballet along with Black, Starr & Frost, America’s first jeweler since 1810, presents the second annual Diamonds & Dance Gala on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Black, Starr & Frost’s harbor side location in Newport Beach. The gala will honor Donalyn Kling of the Kling Family Foundation, who has been a dedicated patron of the Maple Youth Ballet, Orange County’s finest pre-professional ballet company.
“This evening is our opportunity to honor the generosity and enthusiasm that Donalyn has demonstrated to us throughout the years,” said Charles Maple, co-founder of the Maple Conservatory and the Maple Youth Ballet. “Donalyn understands the tradition and importance of classical dance education. She has supported our mission to bring world-class instruction to our local youth no matter their economic status.”
Proceeds from Diamonds & Dance – including 10 percent of all purchases made at Black, Starr & Frost during the gala – will benefit the Maple Youth Ballet and the Charles A. Maple, Sr. Scholarship. The scholarship allows young dancers who demonstrate the financial need for, as well as the drive and commitment to classical ballet training.
The evening will also include a silent auction as well as mini-performance from the Maple Youth Ballet’s upcoming production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
“Black, Starr & Frost is delighted to continue our partnership with the Maple Youth Ballet in honoring Donalyn Kling,” stated Nelson Holdo, President of Black Starr & Frost. “When we see recent Maple alumnus, Bryn Watkins become an apprentice with the American Ballet Theatre, then our mission of ‘Changing the world one jewel at a time(R)’ comes to fruition. We believe that every individual is a precious jewel and it is our commitment and social responsibility to ensure they become brilliant. We are honored to help local youth make their dreams come true.”
Tickets for Diamonds & Dance are available starting at $75 per person or $125 per couple and may be purchased online at www.mapleconservatory.com/supportus/DiamondsFundraiser.shtml.
