CHICAGO, Ill. (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Midwest Wind Energy, LLC (“MWE”) is pleased to announce two key staff promotions from within the organization. Timothy W. Polz, a Senior Project Developer for the past three years has been promoted to Vice President and General Counsel. In his new role, Tim will oversee all aspects of company operations with a focus on business, finance, administration and legal matters.

Tim joined MWE in 2004 and has played a major role in the company’s success. He holds a bachelor degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a J.D. with a certificate in Environmental & Energy Law from Chicago Kent Law School and is a member of the Illinois State Bar.

Thomas G. Swierczewski, a Project Developer for the past 3 1/2 years has been promoted to Senior Project Developer. Tom will be responsible for managing MWE’s project development portfolio and the activities of development staff. Tom joined MWE in 2006 and has contributed significantly to the successful completion of major projects, including Walnut Ridge, a 210-megawatt wind farm located in Bureau County, Illinois.

In addition, Tom has been responsible for developing several projects in Wisconsin and Nebraska. Tom has a bachelor degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Tom previously served as City Planner for the City of Geneva, Illinois.

MWE’s two principal owners, Stefan A. Noe, President, and Michael J. Donahue, Executive Vice President, will remain engaged in company operations with an emphasis on securing power purchase agreements and the sale of certain project assets.

Midwest Wind Energy, LLC is a Chicago-based developer of utility scale wind farms. MWE has successfully completed seven wind farms totaling 649 megawatts that are currently in operation or under construction in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. MWE has a project development portfolio more than 1500 megawatts and has a goal to complete development of more than 1200 megawatts in total by 2013.
