Massachusetts Space Week, held during the third week of April, serves as the culminating statewide celebration, bringing together research institutions, museums, libraries, educators, industry leaders, students, and the public through talks, screenings, workshops, and community events.

The 2026 program introduces three new flagship community events: Massachusetts Space Day, held at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum on April 21; the inaugural Space Week Gala, on Wednesday, April 22 in downtown Boston; and the first Massachusetts Star Fest, on Boston Common on Friday, April 24, featuring stargazing groups from across the state.

Among its goals, Massachusetts Space Week aims to highlight the Commonwealth as a leading space state. From the Apollo collection at the JFK Library to major space exhibits at institutions such as the Museum of Science, Boston, and the Springfield Museums, to programming at the Christa McAuliffe Center in Framingham and research hubs across Cambridge, Lowell, and beyond, Massachusetts offers a dynamic and multidisciplinary space ecosystem.

Massachusetts Space Week aligns with Earth Day and the Commonwealth’s School Vacation Week to encourage broad public and family participation.

While most events are free and open to the public, accessibility support is available for ticketed events through The Space Consortium Accessibility Fund, ensuring participation for low-income households. The program is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to participants of all ages and backgrounds.
